Family Centre’s Volunteer Program places volunteers for a variety of positions. Orientation, training, supervision and performance evaluations are offered for all volunteers.
We are currently recruiting volunteers for the following position(s):
(1) Clerical Support – Family Centre Downtown
Description: Are you organized, people-focused and looking to gain valuable career experience? We are looking for volunteers to assist our administrative staff with a few duties!
Details: This role would include covering the reception desk on Wednesdays and Fridays between 1:00-3:00pm by answering phones, greeting clients, etc. Additional tasks include administrative support for our various programs and initiatives, including preparing materials, data entry, etc.
(2) Early Childhood Education Assistants – Family Centre Downtown & Family Centre West
Description: We are looking for volunteers interested in Early Childhood Education Assistant opportunities for Winter 2024! If you enjoy putting your creativity and imagination to use as well as working with children 12 and under, this role might be for you!
Details: Please reach out to us for details! Duties include program set-up and preparation, interacting with children and their caregivers, assisting the program facilitator with any specific tasks, and clean-up. Opportunities available at both Downtown and West locations

RAP (Random Acts of Play): Mondays Jan 22 – Mar 25 (no program Feb 19) 3:30-5:30pm Ages 5-8

(3) Indoor Gardening Assistant – Family Centre North
Description: Do you love gardening and caring for plants? We are looking for a dedicated volunteer to take care of our houseplants and hydroponic towers at our Family Centre North location, located at The Interfaith Chinook Country Kitchen!
Details: This opportunity would likely require 1-2 hours of time weekly, flexible within our operating hours of 8:30am-4:30pm. Training, equipment and supplies will be provided.
