Early Child Development Mapping

Lethbridge Early Years Coalition

Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not”

-Dr. Seuss

The Lethbridge Early Years Coalition is a local group which supports Lethbridge in raising healthy and happy children. This local group is working together to meet the specific needs of Lethbridge’s children and families by creating local maps of Lethbridge’s children’s development. The Lethbridge Early Years Coalition looks to bring awareness of the importance of the early years, and looks to help families get connected with their community and local resources.  For more information visit http://www.lethbridgeearlyyears.ca

The Lethbridge Early Years Coalition is a part of the province-wide Early Childhood Coalitions Alberta (ECCA) formerly known as the Early Childhood Mapping initiative (ECMap). There are over 100 Coalitions province-wide funded by the Ministry of Human Services.  Coalition help to provide Albertans with a better understand of how young children are doing in their development across Alberta and advocate for communities to support healthy early development.

The Coalition believes…

-The early years (0-5 years), set the course for a child’s future. This impacts lifelong learning, behaviour, health, and quality of life.

-Positive interactions between children and their environment are essential for healthy development.

-Communities matter. It’s everyone’s responsibility to help raise healthy and happy children.

-Families thrive in cohesive and connected communities.
