Building Families That Thrive

This 6-week group is designed for all families looking to create more meaningful and connected relationships. The format of this group allows either one or both parents to attend with or without their children. Children ages 7-12 will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive, creative arts group with an experienced facilitator. Childcare is available for children under the age of 7. Parents of teens are welcome to attend as well.

Through personal reflection, group discussions and videos parents will learn about:

  • The building blocks of family relationships
  • Emotion-Coaching
  • Brain development
  • The impacts of stress on the family
  • Being the parent you want to be
  • Mindfulness

Through discussion, hands-on activities and creative arts children ages 7-12 will learn about:

  • Self-worth
  • Feelings
  • Brain development
  • Self-regulation
  • Mindfulness

Children under 7 will also have activities related to these themes.

This group is recommended for all types of families:

  • 2 parents
  • Single parents (only one parent attends, but consent is required by the other parent)
  • Stepparents
  • Grandparents parenting granchildren
  • GLBTQ parents

It is recommended for common challenges families may face such as:

  • Separation and divorce
  • Emotional regulation issues
  • Anxiety
  • Anger
  • Life balance
  • Grief and Loss
